How Solar + Battery Works

  • As your solar system produces electricity, your battery will charge itself and the excess energy will power your home.
  • If your solar system produces more power than your home needs and your battery is fully charged, that excess electricity will go back through the grid and your account will be credited.
  • You will use that credit at night or anytime when the power is on, but your system can’t produce all the electricity your home needs.
  • In the event of a power outage, your battery will seamlessly supply your home with stored energy.* You decide what appliances are critical to connect to the battery.
  • While the sun is out, your panels will continue to produce energy, recharging your battery so you can use the available battery energy, uninterrupted, until power is restored.

Take Control.

A Solar + Battery Backup solution allows you to be selective about how you power your home and what you pay for that power.*

Trinity Solar offers options and helps you pinpoint what’s best for your family. We’ll design a solar system based on your needs, and when you add a battery backup, you even select what to energize in the event of a power outage. The battery is quiet, low-maintenance, and seamless – there’s no better way to protect yourself against a power outage.*

Protect Your Family Against The Effects Of Power Outages

Solar alone won’t protect you from a power outage – but Solar + Battery can provide power when the grid is down.*

Loss Of Heat/Air
Loss Of Heat/Air
Your heating and cooling systems likely rely on electricity to run, so don’t find yourself in the extreme heat or cold without power!
Frozen Pipes
Frozen Pipes
If an outage occurs in the winter months and your heat goes out, not only are you at risk due to exposure to frigid temperatures, but you also have an increased risk of pipes freezing, which could cause them to crack and burst, causing structural damage and loss.
Carbon Monoxide Poisoning
Carbon Monoxide Poisoning
If you lose heat during the cold months, you may be using a camping stove, gas oven, or other similar appliance for warmth or food. Excessive use of this type of equipment can cause carbon monoxide poisoning, as can the improper use of a gas-powered generator.
Loss Of Food
Loss Of Food
If a power outage is sustained for several hours, you will likely lose most, if not all, of the food in your fridge and freezer. This could result in hundreds of dollars’ worth of spoiled food.
Lack Of Water
Lack Of Water
Not everyone needs electricity for their water, but if you rely on a well pump for your water, your taps may go dry when the power is out. Not only could this affect potable water, but also loss of water for hand washing, showering, or even flushing the toilet.
Loss Of Daily Conveniences
Loss Of Daily Conveniences
If you rely on any electronic devices in your house, you know the many small pains of not being able to use them. Electricity helps power many of our daily routines, from morning alarms to evening entertainment.
Lost Connectivity
Lost Connectivity
In today’s connected world, sometimes a break can be good. However, in the event of an emergency, you don’t want to find yourself without access to your phone because it lost its charge. You may also want access to news sources.
Basement Flooding
Basement Flooding
Many homes have an electric sump pump to remove excess water from the basement. Your home has an increased risk of flooding should a power outage incapacitate your sump pump and leave your basement vulnerable to rising water.

*The amount of power available from the battery during a power outage is limited, depending on the loads connected, customer usage and battery configuration (i.e. batteries in certain areas may be set up to provide you with the best economic benefit, which may affect the amount of back-up power available). Solar systems and/or batteries may require repairs after weather events and such repairs may be delayed due to forces outside of our control. No assurances can be given that the solar system or the battery will always work. You should never rely upon either of these to power life support or other medical devices.
