Last year was big for solar in the U.S., but there may be even more to look forward to over the next three years.
Recent estimates have put the total amount of solar capacity added in the U.S. in 2014 to be at about 6.4 GW, which is enough to power 1.1 million homes. That’s impressive on its own, but it could just be the foundation for what’s to come in 2015 and beyond.
Price is key when getting homeowners interested in going solar. Right now, 10 states offer solar that is equal to the cost of grid electricity. By the end of 2017, 28 states will see price parity between the price of solar and grid electricity, making it attractive for even more people throughout the country.
